Thank you for choosing Crystal Clear Photography to capture your baby’s newness. I am so excited to be a part of one of the most special times in your life! 🙂 I normally books out several months in advance, so it is best to book in your newborn session while you are still pregnant. Once booked, I will pencil in your due date on the calendar. Then as soon as baby arrives, we confirm an exact date for the session. Newborn sessions are usually held in the mornings.
Newborns should be photographed before two weeks of age. They are best photographed in the first 10 days while they are still sleepy and curly so please contact me as soon as possible after your little one arrives to schedule your session.
Before the session
Please try to keep your baby awake for a long period of time; I suggest at least 45 minutes. Try changing the baby, giving them a sponge bath, just whatever it takes =) Dress your baby in clothing that is easy to remove such as a button front outfit or simply a diaper wrapped in a blanket and feed him or her right as your ready to leave.
During the Session
Newborn sessions normally last up to 3 hours. This is to allow time for feeding and soothing the baby. The session is very relaxed and comfortable. Feel free to bring a book or address thank you cards, whatever you may need to do and I will work my magic on your baby. 🙂 Because the sound and smell of mommy nearby tends to make newborns fussy and hungry, it’s best if I spend a while with your little one while you take a break. I ask that you bring as few people to your session as possible, as there isn’t “sitting room” around the set to watch the session.
After the Session
Your in-person Viewing/Ordering session will take place at Crystal Clear Photography studio approximately one week (7 days) after your session and will last about one hour. 20-25 of the best images will be fully edited and presented to you during the Viewing/Ordering session. Please bring all decision makers to the in-person viewing/ordering session, as it will be only opportunity to place your order. If you need an additional ordering session, the fee is $200.
